ATTORNEYS OF RECORD AND LAW FIRMS:
If you received an AUDIT SURVEY from the SF-DCT, you MUST respond to the SF-DCT on or before July 15, 2022 or you could be sanctioned by the District Court.
The District Court ordered the AUDIT SURVEY of all attorneys of record and law firms who represented claimants to ensure that funds were properly distributed to claimants, that no funds remain in an attorney's escrow or trust account, and that no funds were escheated.
You must contact complete and return the Audit Survey to the SF-DCT by July 15, 2022. If you have questions, contact them at 866-874-6099 or by email at: info@sfdct.com. Please do not contact the CAC about this. You must contact the SF-DCT directly.
ATTORNEYS AND CLAIMANTS – Please read this carefully:
Many claimants were approved for payment from the SF-DCT and received their Base Payment. However, they did not respond to the SF-DCT's recent address verification request which is necessary to receive a Premium Payment. As a result, there are almost 13,000 claimants whose approved Premium Payment is in jeopardy.
If you received an address verification letter from the SF-DCT, you must respond or you could forfeit your approved payment forever. You can call them at: 866-874-6099 or send them an email to: info@sfdct.com. If you did not receive an address verification letter, we urge you to contact the SF-DCT to determine if you are eligible for any future payments.
The SF-DCT has posted the claim numbers (called SID numbers) of the approximately 12,600 claimants on its website (www.sfdct.com). If your claim number is listed, this means that you are eligible for an approved payment from the SF-DCT BUT you either did not respond to the address verification letter or your letter was returned to the SF-DCT as a "bad address."
We urge all attorneys to check the list of claim numbers on the SF-DCT website to determine if they represent any of these claimants.
We also urge all claimants to check the list of claim numbers to see if their number is listed. If you do not know your claim number, call the SF-DCT and ask them to look up your claim number.
The deadline to contact the SF-DCT about this matter is September 17, 2022. If the SF-DCT does not hear from claimants whose claim number is listed on the SF-DCT website on or before September 17, 2022, then the claim numbers listed on the website will be permanently closed, and the claimant will lose her right to this payment forever.
Please take action now.
COURT AUTHORIZES PAYMENT TO LATE CLAIMANTS WHO CHOSE THE "FULL PAYMENT LONG-TERM OPTION"
In December 2007, the Court approved an Agreed Order that allowed certain named "late" claimants to participate in the SF-DCT. These claimants were given various limited options to seek compensation. Those who elected the "Full Payment Long Term Option" were required to wait for payment after all other timely filed claimants were paid first and a determination was made that payment to these late claimants would not materially affect Premium Payments to timely filed claimants. These claimants have waited almost 15 years to be paid, and the Court has now authorized the SF-DCT to issue payments to these 96 women.
The SF-DCT will send an address verification and payment will be made to all who verify their address. If you are unsure if you are or represent one of the 96 late claimants, contact the SF-DCT at 866-874-6099 or at info@sfdct.com.
