COURT APPROVES CLASS 7 CONSENT ORDER
On December 3, 2015, the District Court issued an “Order Approving Consent Order To Establish Guidelines For Distribution From The Class 7 Silicone Material Claimants' Fund.” We are posting a copy of the Order to the CAC website (www.tortcomm.org); it should be available to view or download today.
The Order approves the agreed definition of the parties of “marshaling” and authorizes the Claims Administrator to begin the process of issuing payments to Class 7 approved disease claimants and to process and pay the “Disputed Eligible Marshaling Group.” Before payments can be issued, we must first wait 30 days to see if there are any appeals to the Order. If there are no appeals, the Order will become final. We are working closely with the Settlement Facility to expedite payments so that they can be issued immediately once the Order is final. While we do not have an exact date for when payments will begin, the earliest they could be made would be January 2016.
If you have any questions about your claim status in Class 7, you can type your SID number into the Settlement Facility website link (www.sfdct.com, then follow directions for Class 7), and it will show your status.
